Careers

Work that is worth doing, with people who do it well.

We work on research, policy, and communications that shape decisions at the highest levels. We are looking for people who take that seriously.

Working at NADAKAI

What we look for.

Our clients include some of the most rigorous research institutions, policy organizations, and international development bodies in the world. They send us their most important publications. The standard we hold ourselves to reflects that.

We are a small, growing team. Everyone here works directly with clients and directly on documents — there is no layer of account management between the editorial work and the people doing it. If you are looking for a role where you can see the direct impact of your work, this is it.

We value precision, good judgment, and the ability to hold a client's voice while still making the work better. We do not value performative busyness or editorial habits borrowed from contexts that do not apply here.

Open Positions

Three roles, currently open.

Senior Editor — Climate & Energy Policy

London Full-time Editorial

We are looking for a senior editor to be based in London and lead editorial work for a portfolio of research institutions, think tanks, and international policy organisations working on climate, energy, and sustainable development. This is a substantive editorial role — you will be the primary editor on flagship publications and a direct point of contact for client accounts across Europe and globally.

What the role involves

  • Lead structural, line, and copy editing on research reports, policy briefs, working papers, and donor communications for high-profile institutional clients
  • Manage client relationships across the full project lifecycle, from initial scoping through to final delivery
  • Provide substantive editorial counsel on argument structure, narrative clarity, and audience positioning — beyond surface correction
  • Maintain and apply client-specific style guides and NADAKAI editorial standards with precision across all deliverables
  • Contribute to the development of internal editorial processes and the mentoring of junior team members

What we are looking for

  • At least five years of editorial experience working with research, policy, or non-fiction institutional publications
  • Strong subject-matter familiarity with climate policy, energy transition, or sustainable development — you do not need to be a technical expert, but you must understand the discourse
  • Excellent command of Chicago Manual of Style; familiarity with house style systems and international publication conventions an advantage
  • Experience working with non-native English writers and organisations in international development, governance, or research preferred
  • Based in London or willing to relocate; right to work in the UK required

What we offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Direct exposure to flagship research publications and high-profile policy communications
  • Small, senior team with genuine editorial responsibility from day one
  • Flexibility in working hours outside core client-facing windows

Editorial Consultant — Sustainability & Governance

Dubai Full-time Editorial

As NADAKAI expands its work in the Gulf and broader MENA region, we are looking for an editorial consultant to be based in Dubai and serve as the primary point of contact for regional clients. This is a senior individual-contributor role — you will lead editorial engagements with international organisations, research bodies, and government-affiliated institutions working on sustainability, governance, and economic development across the region.

What the role involves

  • Lead copyediting, line editing, and structural editing on research reports, strategy documents, and policy publications for MENA-based and international clients
  • Build and manage client relationships in the Gulf region, working closely with the NADAKAI leadership team on business development and account management
  • Apply editorial judgment to publications written for international audiences, often by non-native English writers operating within institutional and governmental contexts
  • Maintain rigorous editorial standards across multilateral, bilateral, and government-commissioned publications
  • Represent NADAKAI at relevant regional convenings and professional forums

What we are looking for

  • At least six years of editorial experience, with a demonstrable track record in research, governance, or international development publications
  • Familiarity with the institutional landscape in the Gulf — including multilateral organisations, sovereign funds, and government ministries — an advantage
  • Excellent command of Chicago Manual of Style; experience with APA or other international house styles preferred
  • Strong professional network in the region, or the credibility and temperament to build one
  • Based in Dubai or willing to relocate; relevant UAE work authorisation required

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including regional cost-of-living adjustments
  • Significant autonomy and responsibility within a growing international firm
  • Direct access to senior leadership and input into regional strategy
  • Exposure to some of the most consequential sustainability and governance publications being produced in the region

Communications Associate — Research & Policy

Remote Full-time Communications

We are looking for a sharp, organised communications professional to join NADAKAI remotely in a role that sits across editorial support, client communications, and content production. This is a full-time position — not a freelance arrangement — and the right person will be as comfortable working independently as they are collaborating across time zones with a small, distributed team. It is designed for someone who writes well, works with precision, and wants to build their career at the intersection of research, policy, and communications.

What the role involves

  • Draft and edit written materials for clients across the research, think tank, and policy sectors — including briefing notes, summaries, newsletter copy, and communications collateral
  • Support senior editors on larger engagements: reference checking, style guide application, and document preparation
  • Assist with client communications and project coordination across the global client base
  • Contribute to NADAKAI's own content — editorial resources, website copy, and internal documentation
  • Work across time zones with offices in Asia and the Middle East; availability during overlapping hours is expected

What we are looking for

  • Two to four years of experience in communications, editorial, journalism, or a closely related field
  • Exceptional written English — clean, clear, and precise under pressure
  • Genuine interest in research, policy, climate, or development communications
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities without close supervision
  • Location-flexible; we work with a time zone window of roughly UTC+2 to UTC+8

What we offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Fully remote, with genuine flexibility in how you structure your working day
  • Close collaboration with experienced editors and communications professionals across NADAKAI's offices
  • A clear path toward senior editorial and account responsibilities as the team grows

Send your CV and a brief cover note to careers@nadakai.com with the subject line Communications Associate — Research & Policy (Remote). A short writing sample is welcome.
